PARKRUN

I love parkrun. I'm not ashamed to admit that. In many ways, I was a bit late to the party: for a long time, our nearest was a 40-minute drive away, and at the time I just didn't have that dedication to running. When one started in Taunton, coinciding with my half-marathon training, I got hooked. Before parkrun, I had run on-and-off for seven-and-a-half years, and completed about 450 miles. In the year since Longrun Meadow parkrun started, I ran just under 800 miles. Maybe it was just a coincidence of timing, and of a change in my mindset. But maybe not. I certainly credit parkrun with pushing me from an occasional casual runner to a regular serious runner.
